Client certificate
This certificate, or e-identification, is created when the user is activated on the client computer. This certificate is extremely important for security and contains unique information that is used to ensure that it is precisely you who is logging on to Banking transactions and signing the transactions.The e-identification is stored as a file on your computer. It can be moved among different computers, for example if you want to be able to carry out Banking transactions at home and at work.
Server Certificate
This certificate is found on the server to which you select to connect. For Handelsbanken, Verisign issues the certificate and acts as guarantor that the server you connect to is the same as stated. Once you have logged on, you can check that you have connected to the correct server by double clicking on the padlock in the web browser. You will then receive information about the certificate used by the server. For Handelsbanken, the information is:1. Issued by www.verisign.com 2.
