Phishing
What is Phishing
Phishing is usually done like this: someone sends an e-mail that looks like it came from a place that you frequently contact.

* You are misled to believe that the message comes from your bank, your supplier, or someone you normally do business with.
* You are urged to provide information about your user name, password, account number or credit account number, for example.

No bank, neither Handelsbanken nor any other bank, would ever request such information from you – especially by e-mail.

If you receive e-mail allegedly from Handelsbanken that requests information of the type described above, do not answer it. Handelsbanken communicates online via its e-mailbox that is available when you log on to the online services. In addition, Handelsbanken would never contact you in any other way, for example by phone, to request confidential information. All such information is handled through personal contact at your branch office.
Please Note
Do not use links to Handelsbanken that you receive through an e-mail. Always enter Handelsbanken’s address directly in your browser when you visit the bank online. If you by some chance have provided your card number, you must block your card by calling our helpdesk.

If you harbour any suspicions, we would be grateful if you contacted your branch office or our customer support.
