Import letters of credit
A secure and flexible payment
An import letter of credit (L/C) is a payment instrument whereby a bank undertakes to pay against certain indicated documents, e.g. invoices, certificates or freight documents.

The documents must conform to the terms and conditions of the documentary credit, agreed upon by the purchaser and seller.

Secure means of payment
An import L/C is a secure, flexible payment instrument that can be varied in many ways.

The seller can be certain of being paid for the delivered goods if correct documents are presented, and the buyer is certain that the terms are fulfilled before payment is effected.
