What is Open Banking?

Open Banking is an ecosystem for financial services where technology leads the way. Within it, key parties are able to access the banks’ customer data and services (through APIs) to build applications that our customers can benefit from. In addition, Open Banking allows us as a bank, through partnerships, to launch innovative services for our customers more efficiently.

What is an API?

An API (Application Programming Interface) is a set of procedures and protocols for building software applications that defines how software components should interact. These can, for example, be used for different devices, such as computers, smartphones and tablets. The APIs provided by Handelsbanken will make it easy for fintech companies and other third parties to interact with us and develop services for our mutual customers.
